Three little Pinkeeps

Wow! How did August disappear so fast?  Our summer holidays finish tomorrow when the children return to school.  Speaking of which its my oldest daughter's last year at school and I don't know where those years have gone!

But I just wanted to share three little pinkies I've been working on.  I actually started this one with the crow and flag in June and then thought it was a nice size and perfect for smaller x stitch work like a monogram and started a couple more!

Next was a bee pinkeeep, and this time i edged it with black thread and jute.

But as we know autumn is around the corner so I had to stitch a pumpkin - so cute!

So that's where I've got to with my finishes I'm relieved to say! And now I can start in earnest for fall!

Thanks for coming by!

More wool works

I've finally been brave enough to cut up some of my wool stash.
I find it so hard as I love opening my (small) wool cupboard and just admiring!

But having been inspired by photos of dragonflies and butterflies and summery flowers, I decided to make some pillows in my favourite colour, blue, of course!

Just simple straightforward designs I drew out and then stitched onto neutral wool background.

A tall penny flower on this longer pillow

I added a few knots for detail

I think the dragonfly is my favourite.

Time to fly!

Hope you like as I'm listing them in Etsy.

Many thanks for commenting!

Visit to Century Farm Museum

On our way through Ohio, we visited Burton Geauga County and visited the charmingly quaint Century Farm Museum.   All the buildings have been restored and can be toured though we only had time for a quick peek.

Enjoy some glimpses around it.

We peeked in to the Cook Farmhouse and I loved the primitive look and red paneling. Its from inside the farmhouse in the first shot.

This is also inside the Cook farmhouse

Another house had a display of ladies clothing over the last few hundred years.
Who was ever so tiny around the waist?

An early ensemble for the lady driver!

It was a beautiful day and lots to see and enjoy!

Thanks for coming by!

Look forward to hearing from you!

Wool applique Sunflower

Happy Friday, friends! I have another Friday finish to share again in wool appliqué.

I have missed working with wool so I am making up for lost time!

Sunflowers are all out so I had to make one to brighten up the place as we have only had clouds and rain all week, no sun :-(

I tried to display  it in different spots around my home but chose this rustic tray with moss in it and like it!

Hoping you have a great weekend!

Some more new treasures

You can surely tell on entering our home that we as a family enjoy The USA and our time spent there on vacation.  My son has chosen to have his bedroom decorated with the Stars and Stripes.

We picked up the USA marquee lights from Target for his room and whilst I was shopping for fabrics in The Country Craft Cupboard, he spotted this Stars and stripes pillow and we were able to buy the fabric and I stitched it up for his chair!

A locally made saltbox house came home with me and I put a battery operated flicker candle inside.

I have been looking for ages for a wire egg basket for my bench - maybe with rag balls or...

old spools!

A favourite, as I love lamps, is this Moravian star lamp which casts such a warm lovely glow in a dark corner.

It's been fun finding where to place new treasures and remembering the places they came from on our travels.

Wishing you all a lovely week!

Your comments mean so much!

Saturday Stitching

After too many delays and procrastination on my part, I finally finished this summer freebie (from last summer, I have to admit!!!).

It was part of Buttermilk Basin's Summer Blog Hop and with lots of prim features like a crow, a star and of course stars and stripes!

I backed the pillow in a lovely patriotic fabric by Marcus Brothers

But what really made me love this pattern was the addition of USA using 'typewriter keys'! Love them!!

I hadn't come across them before but found them in Hobby Lobby.

So finally I can move onto another project!

Hope you all have a lovely weekend!

Primitive Inspiration

As primitive stores and treasures are not available here, I have to make the best of my time on vacation and browse the stores carefully and sweet hubby is very patient in allowing me time to browse to my heart's content!

It is so much fun just to admire though at times I sigh as I can't bring home larger items - or the more expensive ones like these two amazing pieces for Christmas! Aren't they lovely - they're each about 2ft tall at least.

When I see displays like this I an inspired to try the same decorating ideas at home with some of my own accessories.

There was a mixture of patriotic and fall displays.

Do you love Fixer Upper with Chip and Joanna? I love their  home makeover show and thought this lighting fixture was like something they would use, and I loved it too!

I hope to work on a makeover piece soon  thanks to these visits and pictures.

Are you  working on or planning any makeovers?

Hope to hear from you and wish each a fun filled week

Thanks for your visit!
