Well I thought it was high time to reinvent The Primitive Shelf my selling blog and so I have opened an Etsy shop with the same name! Just click on the link on the sidebar.

So far I have listed Christmas cross stitched finished tuck pillows but I'm hoping to finish wool applique items and even some Valentines Day items.

It was just the push I needed to keep crafting!

Hope you visit again!

Angel Punch Needle Stocking

Welcome dear friends.  Did you enjoy your weekend?  We had a busy one and a cold one with freezing temperatures yesterday.

Today I finished this punch needle angel stocking by Country Stitches.  I just used DMC threads that I had to hand.  In hindsight I wish I had used darker green for the holly leaves but overall I'm pleased with it.
I think my punch needle technique is getting better but I would like to know how to achieve clearer definition of detail eg the stars the angel is holding.

As that's another project ticked off my bucket list, I'm going to start into the next one!
All fun and games!

Once again, thank you all for your comments and visits.
I truly love hearing from you.

Happy Weekend!

The weekend is upon us again and I have enjoyed a week less fraught with deadlines and more relaxing time for stitching at leisure.

I also wanted to show you a little bear I made with the remnant of faux fur and with a pattern by Brenda Gervais.  Just keeping him simple with a wool scarf.

I've been busy needle punching and hope to have it finished by Monday.
Are you working on anything this weekend?
Have a fun weekend what ever you do!

Tuesday Travels - Front doors!

Today was a lovely day for fresh air so I made the most of it and set off on a brisk walk.

Just thought I'd share the views and the lovely front doors I passed on my travels.
Below is the mill pond though the mill house in the background was never a real mill.

I love how many different colors people choose for their front door

This house is supposed to be like an old renovated church and I love the stone work and arch door~
This is a view of the same house from the front with mock front doors.

This house has a beautiful brick arched doorway with stained glass~

Well I hope you enjoyed the walk with me in the fresh November air.
Which door is your favourite?

A new Week

Hey friends! Hope you all had a lovely weekend.

I know I was glad to have some time to unwind and de-stress from the craft fair.

Speaking of the craft fair, it was OK though I did come home with more than I wanted too but having said that, the crowds just weren't there as we have had the worst weather and on Thursday we had more rain in one day than usual for the whole month, so many roads were flooded and people stayed home.  I even had to turn back on my way to the fair as the road was flooded and some poor driver was stuck in the middle of it.

Thanks for all your suggestions re the stacking boxes. So many great ideas.

Here's what I went with and please remember I am definitely not a skilled artist!!
Sadly they did come home with me in spite of many admiring customers' comments. :-(

But I am feeling upbeat about a whole fresh new page of the week stretching out before me. So much potential for creativity and crafting!
Hope you all enjoy it!

Hurtling Towards Thursday

Hi folks! Is it just me or is time hurtling faster? In just two days time I'll be setting up my wee craft table at the fair.

As you can see I finished my yoyo trees and another punch needle snowman mitten.
I also thought Id try something a bit different for me - instead of a needle and thread, I took up paint and brushes on these cardboard letters.  Just kept it simple though but pleased with the overall result.
However I am stuck for ideas on how to finish off the two larger boxes. I tried trees but they were pretty bad! Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

I've the school run to do now but still a fair bit to finish today and tomorrow so I need your prayers!

Thanks for all your encouragement!

Round and round in circles

Seems like I'm in a bit of a spin today!  I'm busy making circles or rather yoyos for the craft fair next week!  When I realized that we are already in November I kinda got in a flap but thankfully, I just took a deep breath and got to sewing!

It always helps when you can look over some finished creations.  Here are just a few I've time to share before I dig in to the UFO's again!

Sorry to be a in a rush and please forgive me if I don't get around to visit you all as much as I'd like in the next few days!
Busy, busy, busy!
Be blessed!
