Birthday weekend!

Yes this weekend I celebrated my 45th birthday and I can't believe that so many years have flown by when I still imagine I'm in my mid 20's!!!! (Not when I look in the mirror though! lol!)

My daughter took this pic on her phone at my mum's and of course the cake and candles had to be brought out!

This is my special birthday gift from hubby.  I love lamps and have always wanted one like this so he treated me when we were on holiday.... he's so good to me.

It's black and I have placed it for now on the hall table.

This is another treat and something I happened upon by chance but instantly knew where it would go.
So this star shaped woven basket had to come home with me - if you know me you know I love all things star shaped!
I've place it on top of my kitchen wall cupboards and with some fall foliage I hope it'll look just the part this autumn.

So that was my weekend!  Lots of fun with family and good food of course!

Thanks again for all those who leave comments.  Its good to know you come and visit!

Best wishes

No longer WIP - Finishes!

Hello again.  Thought I'd share a couple of finishes I've just recently completed.  This first one is one of my all time favorite patterns by Stacy Nash.  The colors are so pretty and it all comes together in the pouch with the prim whip stitched band.

(If anyone knows how to iron out creases in linen let me know!!! I've tried dampening it etc but it still shows up in these pics. Aargggh!!)

 This is a freebie from

It's always nice to stitch up something free and quick!

Autumn is definitely in the air and my winter pansies are coming along well with lots of fall color.

Thank you all for visiting as I ease back into blogging and try to catch up!

Have a blessed weekend!

sharing summer memories...

The summer seems long gone but as you can see, I'm just getting around to posting some summer memories now that we're quickly approaching autumn!

We had a wonderful vacation to New England and stopped in Newport RI to see the Breakers an amazing 'summer cottage' built by the Vanderbilts.  Newport is lovely but the prim shops were in short supply however when travelling through CT we stopped in Old Saybrook and had to visit Home At Last a great store filled with furniture and wonderful handmades.

We drove down to Amish country for a very quick visit and the scenery never disappoints as well as the prim shopping!

I am already dreaming of visiting again!!!

But for now it's back to settling into a new school year and lots of challenges.  I think I'm  going to have to skip fall crafting as I've signed up for a Christmas craft fair and have started sewing Santas etc!

Until next time,
God bless
