Good evening and welcome! Glad you stopped by so that I can share some new patterns with you! And yes I'm still doing Valentine's!
It's been a hectic week. I feel as if I was back at school helping my older two revise and study for exams all week so I've been struggling to fit in blogging and stitching and as ever, there are so many ideas running around my head, and I'll never get time to do them. That's FRUSTRATING!!!!
But I did stitch up these little pin keeps just to use up remnant squares of fabric.
I'm so sorry this will not turn for me - hope you don't strain tour neck!
The above 2 little patterns are free for you to copy and stitch up for your own pleasure.
This one is my latest design and if you are interested in purchasing the pattern for $5.00, just email me!
We had a good fall of snow this week and I tried to capture it falling softly in our neighborhood~
My son made Fred Bob, a jolly snowman!
But it has rained all day and now there's little or no snow left. That suits me just fine!
Well that was the week that was and I also want to thank you all for your comments on my last post - you are why I love to blog!
Welcome to my little corner of the world. It's cold and dreary outdoors but there's hot cocoa and a warm welcome so step inside. I love to have company and always enjoy a chat with dear friends!
But now why blog? I was reading Betty's (Throughmybackdoor) post this morning about why she blogs - you can read it here - and I know many of us who blog do so for exactly the same reasons as she does.
She then invited us to do a post about it too and I thought it was a good opportunity to share with you and encourage you all to keep on blogging!
I could sum up the blessing of blogging alliteratively, ( I love alliteration!! must be the English literature teacher in me!)
FUN!!! It is great fun to share!
FRIENDSHIP! I've met so many great bloggers who are there to cheer me on!
FELLOWSHIP!! Bloggers genuinely care and pray for one another.
FAB IDEAS! There are so many gifted crafters who are generous enough to share ideas.
It just seems to me that blogging is more personal and not so superficial as FB. I have never had any inclination to join FB though I understand the benefits it can bring to a business - it's just not for me.
The sense of community seems better in blogging circles so I hope you open a blog and share and keep reading and commenting. If no one comments it's hard to know if anyone reads your blog.
Yes that makes it more time consuming but it's the personal touch that makes the difference.
Anyhoo , After that wee heart to heart, here are some of the hearts out for Valentine's Day~
Isn't this cool? It's a small potato I found in the bag when preparing dinner!!!
A heart cut out chair for a special doll all the way from Canada and a special blogging friend!
Of course I heart family!
A basket of homespun hearts...
These two are still for sale BTW if you need hearts for Feb 14!
And please know that I do appreciate you stopping by and commenting. That's why I do what I do!
Hey friends! I'm just dropping by to let you know that I've listed a few new items for sale on my selling blog, 'The Primitive Shelf'. The link is on the right hand sidebar.
This pillow is one I've just finished, a pattern by 'The Primitive Hare'.
And I just wanted to remind everyone about my Snowman candle mat giveaway. The winner's name will be drawn on Tuesday 15th next week. You need to comment on the previous post only to be entered so click to go to that post and thanks for stopping by.
Yes 300 posts! For me that's quite an achievement so I thought the best way to celebrate was to offer the snowman candlemat in a giveaway for all the readers who support me! You are all greatly appreciated!
So thank you all and just leave your comment on this post only if you wish to be entered. New followers can enter too!
The only condition is that you are a signed up follower of my blog and that I am able to contact you if you win!
You can post on your sidebar if you wish and I'll draw the winner's name on Jan 15th.
Thanks so much for making this blogging journey so worthwhile!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!! I think it still counts because the first week isn't over yet! But I do pray that all my dear blogging readers enjoy a great year and know peace and blessing from the Savior throughout 2013.
I've had a lovely couple of weeks visiting family and friends over Christmas and New Year and things seem to be returning to our established routine - a bit sad but more sane for me as the kids have been on a sugar rush but so happy and excited! So a healthy dose of calm is in order!
I've not had a chance to do too much sewing but after Christmas I always think snowmen. So I made a wooly candle mat~
There are little buttons on the tree for decorations.
Here's another penny mat from a freebie pattern - click here and scroll down the page for it
Thought I'd better jump on the Valentine bandwagon like all well organised crafters and be more prepared for Feb 14. Here's a sneak peak of the redwork cross stitch I'm sewing at present.
Thanks for your visits and hopefully I can visit you all again, so please don't think I've forgotten you!
