Holiday Highlights Part 3 Lanaster County

I promise this will be the final post about our vacation! I love visiting Amish country so much my hubby was good enough to take us to Lancaster County - there's nothing like driving through the fields of corn dotted with barns and silos and Amish buggies!

Weavertown one room schooolhouse~

Of course there are so many great shops to visit along the way, like Bird in Hand

Strasburg is so pretty and in a prim store there I had to take a pic of this fella!
And of course there is Intercourse and Kitchen Kettle Village and the Stagecoach shops~

The Dutchland Quilt Patch in Ronks is great to browse through and pick up some gifts even for Christmas!
And what need I say about the Amish bake shops? The cakes are out of this world!!! Yummy!

I love the red flowers and tin jug so they came home with me
and so did a family Heirloom Weaver table runner in lovely greens and reds for Christmas

as well as some odds and ends - needfuls - but my longsuffering husband isn't so sure!!lol!
Well that's all folks and thanks for stopping by!

Best wishes

  2. Hi Christine. I'm so glad you enjoyed your trip to our beautiful USA. I just went back and played catch up with your last two posts. Looks like you had a wonderful time and have many memories to keep with you.

You've made me homesick to jump in my car and drive to Lancaster for a couple of days.

  6. I hope to be able to go East and visit someday. It looks so beautiful and peaceful. I am so happy you got to spend some time there. It is hard to come home and get into a routine again:) I love your tin with the red flowers. I would have picked it up too. They would have had to roll me out of the bakery. I could eat stuff like that all day. Oh yummy. Glad you had a great time and made it home ok. -Steph-
