Hello friends and thanks for visiting! After sleeping off most of the jetlag and sorting through the suitcases, and even sewing again I thought it was about time to share some photos of our trip.
One of the highlights for me was our day at Mt Vernon, George Washington's farm on a beautiful hill overlooking the Potomac. It was a hot day but we waited in line for over an hour to tour inside - unfortunately no photos could be taken inside. I thoroughly enjoyed it though it was crowded, all the outbuildings were well maintained as were the grounds.
The children enjoyed meeting Lady Washington and posing for a pic!
What a great place to visit! The only thing was we had cycled from Alexandria on rental bicycles and when we went out to go back some 'nice ' people had stolen two of the bikes. What a stress! The rental store was very understanding and helped sort it out which was a big relief and we got back home in better spirits.
I have so many photos to sort through, that I will call it a night for now and will be back soon!
